Virsaviya is an ESL teacher turned software engineer. After six years of adventuring around the world and teaching English, she pivoted to engineering. Today, she is the #ReactGuru at Accenture Liquid Studio, providing rapid prototyping of web applications for Accenture clients. While she spends her days coding, her calling is to help people lead happier and more fulfilling lives by studying mental health and human behavior. She is the cofounder of the #PsychandTech meetup in Silicon Valley, a growing community that explores two things: how our understanding of human behavior can further develop disruptive technologies and how technology can be leveraged for mental health treatments and research techniques. In addition to her lifelong commitment to psychology, Virsaviya is dedicated to ending violence against women and empowering survivors. She has produced several performances of The Vagina Monologues and is a volunteer with AnnieCannons, an organization that empowers survivors of sexual trafficking by teaching them to code. She has also completed a solo, cross country bike tour to raise funds for V-Day, an international non-profit that aims to stop violence against women and girls. This is Virsaviya’s fourth #LWTSummit and her second time presenting. She is excited to learn from such brilliant, capable and passionate women!
