Vanessa is the Director of Engineering for Flippable, a Resistance organization that leverages technology and data to flip state legislatures from red to blue. She is a self-taught software engineer who got her start working on GIS and mapping technologies. In the last couple years she has dived into the world of political tech. In 2016 she worked for Hillary For America on the Fundraising Team. After the November election, she joined some fellow staffers to create Flippable. Flippable is leading the charge in bringing information on state politics to the electorate with the goal of providing exposure, financial and volunteer support to state-level campaigns.
Vanessa is also leader of the San Jose chapter of Girl Develop It, a nonprofit organization that exists to provide affordable and judgment-free opportunities for women interested in learning web and software development.
