Valerie Black is an author, speaker, coach, and award-winning business leader. In 2008 she co-founded Vera Whole Health, a national onsite clinic provider, and was Chief Visionary Officer until 2015. With her consulting group, The Change Agency, Valerie co-created The Coach Approach, a gold-standard medical CME for leaders and physicians supporting the cultivation of emotional intelligence in healthcare settings to improve health outcomes. For the past three years, Valerie led the Behavioral Science team at Hinge Health, creating technology products powered by clinical support, human connection, and behavioral design. Today, as a consultant and coach, Valerie supports leaders and organizations in human-centered design, product design, healing burnout, and improving patient health outcomes. Healthcare clients include Seattle Children’s Hospital, Physician’s Insurance, Sound Medicine, Hinge Health, and Seattle OBGYN. Puget Sound Business Journal awarded Valerie the Woman of Influence Award for her impact on the healthcare industry. Valerie is also the author of The Change Agent’s Handbook and host of the podcast Becoming Power. Valerie is intent on supporting the deep cultivation of heart-filled impact in organizations so that healing and health are more accessible to us all.
