Val is a web3 software engineer and smart contract developer. She is currently helping to build a free and open source peer-to-peer data management protocol called Ceramic Network, spearheaded by the NYC startup 3Box Labs. She graduated from Cornell University with undergraduate and master’s degrees in Computing and Information Sciences.

When she’s not coding, Val runs Bloom by Festival Labs, a blockchain developer program designed to bring women and genderqueer folks into the web3 space. Val is a mentor for the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator and Gitcoin Kernel, she is a 500 Startups Bootcamp graduate, and was previously a volunteer organizer for SF Cryptocurrency Developers, Women Who Code Blockchain SF, and the MIT Bitcoin Club.
