Thacher Hussain is passionate about helping patients to live better, more independent lives. She is a software developer, healthcare strategy consultant, and type 1 diabetic — bringing together the patient, strategic, and technical perspectives. Turning her own diagnosis into the fuel for her work in patient advocacy, Thacher writes and speaks about her personal experience and is actively hacking her own medical devices using open source software. Above all, she is a patient who is not waiting for a solution.
Thacher lives in Seattle with her dog and enjoys going to coffee shops with her friends to work on projects and sit next to each other supportively without talking.
