Tamara Hale, PhD, is the Principal UX Researcher at Workday where she provides research and design leadership across Workday’s products, building out Workday’s research practice and bringing design tools to unlock creative potential to teams throughout the organization. She has over a decade of experience as a UX leader empowering leading technology companies to build exceptional products, services and user experiences through deep understanding of people. Tamara has worked across private, government, non-profit and social impact sectors in Europe, Latin America and the USA. She has a PhD in Cultural and Cognitive Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and holds a post-doc position at the University of Colorado’s Latin American Studies Center.
She is a Co-Organizer of Flatirons LGBTQ Tech Meetup, a Boulder, Colorado-based professional group that supports and empowers individuals and organizations working towards increasing LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusivity within tech in Colorado. Flatirons Tech works with local tech companies and startups, accelerators, venture firms and higher education. Flatirons LGBTQ Tech is also part of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Affinity Group Alliance. They partner with organizations to put on local events including professional networking, panels, social events, recruitment events, Boulder Startup Week programming and more. Flatirons LGBTQ Tech was founded in 2014 and has over 650 members.
