Simone N. Sneed is a management geek and non-profit professional who actually loves her job. As the Board Liaison for the Environmental Defense Fund, she partners with philanthropic stakeholders to advance market based solutions to environmental and social inequities, in the U.S. and around the world. Prior to EDF, Simone raised $25 Million dollars for issues ranging from international LGBT human rights to teen pregnancy prevention and worked with civil rights activist Van Jones to launch Dream Corps, a non-profit accelerator home to #YesWeCode, #cut50 and #GreenForAll. Driven by her commitment to next generation social impact managers, Simone is part of the leadership team for the Nexus Global Youth Summit’s Climate Working Group and a professor of public service management at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She serves on the boards of the Ms. Foundation and Be: More America and is a contributor to the Stanford Social Innovation Review and Huffington Post. Simone spends her free time living in the Catskill Mountains, with her partner, a theater director and their two cats, Jimmie and Lance.
