Samuel Carrington

Service Design Manager, co-lead of LGBTQIIA Resource Group
Lyft

When he isn’t making people groan with punny #dadjokes or dressing his dog in the pinkest outfits the world has seen, Samuel works to design customer experiences that create delight with simplicity and care as Service Design Manager at Lyft.

A queer, bisexual, FtM transman, Samuel leverages his long history and love of community activism and service to improving people’s lives through tech. He currently serves as a co-lead for LyftOut (the LGBTQIIA Employee Resource Group at Lyft), where he leads advocacy initiatives for employees and the community at large; he is also a volunteer board member at Folsom Street Events, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for local and national non-profit organizations providing critical services in social justice, health and human services, and the arts. He was also a proud participant in the Lesbians Who Tech & TechHire Summit at the White House in 2016. Previously, he led marriage equality initiatives for Equality California, including being a “Love Warrior” rider on the National Marriage Equality Express in 2005.

Samuel is passionate about creating change through unlikely alliances, and is committed to driving equality through any means necessary. Also, he loves spreadsheets…a lot.
