Rae Blumenthal (she/her) is a Program Manager at Meta (previously known as Facebook.) She started her career at the United Nations, developing and scaling a community-based methodology for educating and empowering marginalized sub-populations in the Asia Pacific region. She then transitioned to the tech industry, working at several startups to directly support customers through engagement, user research programs, and incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility into standard business practices. She now works on Meta’s risk mitigation and management strategy, focusing on support for vulnerable populations, crisis response, and the company strategy to address the most severe real world harms facing the 3.5 billion users across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Outside of work, she loves hiking, traveling, and exploring the Bay Area with her wife and pup, Milo.
