Payton Iheme is the U.S. Public Policy manager for the Federal policy team for Facebook. She focuses on policy issues on a range of topics, but works closely on issues related to the Internet, digital economy/small business, counter terrorism, cybersecurity, data privacy, Veteran’s policy, and partnerships. Prior to her current role, she served as the Senior Policy Advisor for Communication Technology at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy under the Obama Administration. Payton has also held various roles in Congress as a legislative liaison and specialized in defense, intelligence, and special access programs for Members on the Senate Intelligence, Armed Services, and Foreign Relations Committees. Payton has broad experience in the national security sector, public/private partnerships, and with international relations while serving as a commissioned officer in the Army’s special operations and humanitarian assistance elements supporting the Department of Defense. She holds degrees from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in Government policy from the George Washington University.
