Nina is an offensive security engineer at Microsoft, currently focused on developing open-source tooling for AI Red Teaming. She began her career in the tech industry in 2019 after graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and spent the first 4 years improving Microsoft’s security posture through development of endpoint and cloud-based offensive security services. In January 2024, she transitioned roles to the AI Red Team and is one of the maintainers of the team’s open-source project, PyRIT (an automation framework to empower security professionals and machine learning engineers to proactively find risks in their generative AI systems). Nina is deeply involved in cultivating a diverse and inclusive workspace, particularly as a leader within LGBTQIA2S+ and women’s employee resource groups. Outside of work, you can find Nina summiting mountains around the Seattle and greater Pacific Northwest area, hammocking in the park with an iced vanilla oat milk latte in hand, goalkeeping in Seattle’s queer soccer league, and frequenting local art walks and breweries.
