Monika Thornton-Lawrence opens the line of communication between businesses, customers, and the community to navigate impactful events. With over 10 years in both public and private community event support, tech, and consumer operations Monika has experience in business continuity, program management, professional development, strategic implementation, and company collaboration. Throughout her career, Monika has sought to increase cross functional partnerships, community leadership, and increase the focus on businesses increasing their responses to challenging situations. Monika is a Business Continuity Program Manager at T-Mobile with a focus in technology-based business innovation.

A strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, Monika Co-Leads the local DE&I Chapter at the T-Mobile Bellevue, WA Headquarters and places a dedicated focus on assisting employees with effective mental health techniques and selfcare. These efforts have allowed Monika to be successful in building community partnerships with larger corporations that want to increase their employee experience.

While working in tech has been gratifying, Monika’s passion for community leadership always brings her back to her heart for people. She is a wife and mother to two amazing children who fill her time outside of work with new adventures. In 2014, Monika founded Powerful Beginnings, an organization that advocates for and provides resources to individuals experiencing Domestic Violence and traumatic situations. The organization ensures individuals have proper support navigating their lives through transitional education and influence such as resume building, interview training, job placement, and financial responsibility strategies.
