The Skillz platform helps developers build multi-million dollar businesses by enabling social competition in their games. The company hosts billions of casual esports tournaments for millions of players every year, and distributes hundreds of millions in prizes every month.

Miriam is committed to fostering a strong and diverse engineering team, earning recognition from publications including VentureBeat and CIO Magazine for her passion and efforts to bring diversity to gaming and technology. She has also received accolades including Fast Company’s Queer 50, Forbes’ CIO Next 50 Most Innovative Technology Leaders, and the mBolden Champion of Women Award. Additionally, Miriam has been welcomed as a speaker at numerous industry conferences, including Tech Inclusion, TwitchCon, Anita Borg’s Hopper x1 Seattle, and Lesbians Who Tech. A seasoned software engineer, she has also worked at companies including Financial Engines (NASDAQ: FNGN) and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPE) after graduating from MIT.
