Senior Business Development Manager, Hyperspectral
Planet Labs PBC

Max comes from a background in commercial space science, where she led the business development team for a series of satellites designed to reveal the chemical composition of exoplanet atmospheres with infrared spectroscopy. She built a global network of academic customers to drive investment in the satellites and to collaboratively develop an observing program that would tackle the most burning questions in exoplanet science.

In September 2022, driven by the need to make an impact in the ongoing climate crisis, she joined Planet’s Hyperspectral team where she is now building the Go-to-Market strategy for the upcoming Tanager constellation. The first two Tanager satellites are scheduled to launch in late 2023. From now until launch, Max is focused on creating and leveraging an ecosystem of hyperspectral thought leaders to understand how satellite imagery from Tanager can translate to real-world action across a swathe of industries.

Max is particularly energized by learning from customers and researchers who are using space data to address the world’s foremost environmental challenges, in areas including biodiversity, emissions mitigation and sustainable agriculture. Max also co-leads the “Planetqueers” Employee Resource Group, where she enjoys supporting (and being supported by) her LGBTQ+ colleagues through the various challenges we face. Outside of work, she loves to hike, bike, eat, box, find community and explore the great outdoors.
