Mahnaz Moosa, Group Vice President, IT Governance. Risk & Compliance – National IT has been with the Federal Reserve since Jan 2012. Mahnaz is a CPA and holds an MBA from Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University. Mahnaz is a Certified SAFe 5 Practioner, a Certified Scrum Product Owner and holds a Sig Sigma Green Belt.

Mahnaz currently serves as the Executive Sponsor of the LGBTQ+ Resource Network, is a member of the Executive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and has served in Executive Sponsor positions with the Women’s Employee Resource Network and the Diversity & Inclusion employee network

Mahnaz has over 25 years of practical experience working with public and private corporations and has assisted them in re-engineering their organizations to enhance their strategic vision, financial viability, and risk, control and compliance environments.

She began her professional career as an auditor with a large CPA firm and after six years of working in complex transaction advisory services, left for various senior level corporate finance positions with Fortune 500 global companies including Nortel Networks and CAE Inc. In addition, Mahnaz was CFO at various entities including a private equity owned global entity, and a public company with over $1Billion in revenues. Her specialized knowledge in financial strategy, financial management and planning, complex transactions and handling the finance aspects of multiple mergers, acquisitions and expansion projects have taken her around the world multiple times, having done business throughout North America, Europe, South America, Dubai, China and India. In 2008 Mahnaz started her own financial consulting practice, providing financial advisory services specializing in creation of strategic plans, setting up and enhancing financial reporting and planning structures, corporate turnarounds, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions advisory, start-ups, and CFO advisory services

Mahnaz was born in England, and was raised in Canada. She has called the United States her home for almost twenty years, first living in Dallas, Texas and then relocating to Richmond, Virginia in 2012. Mahnaz and her wife have twin 8 year-old boys, and spend their free time traveling, exploring and watching the boys play team sports, as well as spending time with their three dogs T’Challa, Max and Marley.
