Kim Tran Ph. D is an award-winning consultant, author, and activist. A co-founder of Desai & Tran Consulting, she specializes in helping organizations ensure that their commitment to purpose driven work is reflected in their organizational dynamics. Her past clients include the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Sidewalk Labs, and Google Summer of Code. Kim holds a doctorate in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley where she researched allyship in Asian American communities. Her work has been featured in NPR, Slate, Politico, PBS New Hour, and the New York Times. In 2021, the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus honored Kim with its Outstanding Community Member award. Her first book: After Diversity, is forthcoming from Haymarket Books.
