Katherine McDonald leads the Global Information Security (GIS) Third Party Information Security (TPIS) team, responsible for oversight of third party security programs, including assessing third party security programs and maximizing protections for all aspects of security for the third party landscape.
Prior to her current role, Katherine led planning and governance for Third Party in the GIS Business Information Security Officer (BISO) organization where she was tasked with defining the next generation security strategy for Third Party. In addition, she represents the company in the formation of TruSight, an independent organization that will transform third party risk management by strengthening the industry’s approach to consistent information security control validation.
Katherine also previously served as the chief operating officer for the BISO organization in GIS. She was responsible for strategy, quality assurance, business operations, and a number of key programs. Since joining Bank of America in 2007, Katherine has worked extensively within the third party space, including developing the process and technology used to source, plus vendor management and the Merrill Lynch transition.
A graduate of Stony Brook University, Katherine holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. In addition to a minor in International Studies, she studied abroad in Poland, Prague, France and the Czech Republic.
Katherine is based in Charlotte, NC.
