Kathrina (Kat) Hardy, a security executive with Verizon, is a 12 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Operations Desert Storm / Shield.
Kat joined Verizon in 1994 and has held various technical and management positions in IT and also National Network Operations. Recently, Kat joined Verizon’s Chief Information Security organization, focused on Cyber Incident Response.
Kat’s previous roles at Verizon include; acting Director of Network Security for Verizon Wireless, where she was responsible for vulnerability management, identity and access management, risk management, and policy and audit management, and Senior Manager of Network Security Incident Response, responsible for monitoring, responding to and mitigating attacks against Verizon Wireless networks. Her functional areas in that role included Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Denial of Service (DOS) defense, internet abuse operations, incident response, and advanced threat detection. She also managed a team responsible for providing monitoring and technical support for the wireless internal and external networks.
Outside of work, Kat continues to serve her country and community by volunteering with her local Elks Club. She is also an avid sports enthusiast.
