Karen Stritzinger is a technical artist with a background in 3d content creation, visual effects and development of immersive applications. She earned a BFA in Visual Arts and an MFA in Digital Production Arts (DPA) at Clemson University. During this time she worked with a group of students and DreamWorks mentors to create “QA-ARM-A”, one of the DPA program’s first animated shorts to be accepted at SIGGRAPH. After completing studies, she worked at Avametric to build 3d clothing simulations and a mobile AR shopping app called DressingRoom by Gap. Karen was selected to participate in the 2017 Oculus Launch Pad program where she explored using VR to help spread awareness of emotional abuse. Later, she built AR prototypes at Meta to showcase future applications of the technology to customers. Karen is currently working as a prototyper on the Oculus System UX Design team to support development of new software features.
