Jess Ainlay is a world-traveling storyteller who has shifted her passion for travel and entrepreneurship into a much larger quest for freedom. After four years spent as a nomadic travel writer, and a decade before that living abroad in Central America and Europe, Jess was forced to face the loss of every single ounce of freedom she had worked for her entire adult life. What’s more, when left alone to find her way back up, she realized how deeply affected she was by a nearly 8-year relationship rife with domestic violence – and how little the LGBTQ community speaks about DV related issues that affect us all. Today, she is working to tell the stories of LGBTQ DV survivors and expand the narrative beyond its current heteronormative rhetoric. Jess has now found her own happily-ever-after, living with her sweet, thoughtful fiancé and seriously adorable pug in Brooklyn.
