Emma, whose pronouns are she/her, is a self-described user-centric product person who has spent time as a founder, first hire, or the first PM at startups of varying scales. For nearly a decade Emma has served as an advisor for women and non-binary folks in tech, early-stage startups, and scaled organizations at the intersection of product, inclusion, equity, and diversity.

She recently became Vice President of Product at Meetup.com. Prior to that she was the Senior Director of Product at Shutterstock where she led multiple teams across various lines of business including all products for supply-side contributors; the content pipeline, media storage and search; all four mobile apps on iOS and Android for both the consumer and the contributor; as well as localization, internationalization and machine translation efforts for all products in 21 languages. There she launched Prism, the LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group and partnered across departments to codify best practices for inclusion and equity in order to support diversity & belonging throughout all levels of the business and products.

Previously, as Vice President of Product at Axios she led the Product, UX Research and Design teams to evolve the ways that journalists create and publish stories in a format and style that sustains the attention of high-value readers and subscribers. Having joined Axios in its nascent stage, she was the first Product hire and grew the craft from the ground up. With an early focus on structure and scalability, she was instrumental in the conception and creation of the minimalistic bespoke CMS, Eden, that powers all Axios publishing. The product success enabled Axios to raise a $20MM Series-A round and sustained 50% revenue growth YoY to $25MM within the first 2 years. Her commitment to inclusion led her to co-found the LGBTQIA ERG, Quaxios, the D&I Council, and to embed inclusive practices into the product development process across all teams, ensuring accessibility for all users.

Emma has been in NYC for fifteen years lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn with her fiance Jay (they/them), and their dog Rhubarb who has her own career in startups.
