Deborah Pascoe leads Test Technology Development at Zymergen, a company using biology to create novel materials. Throughout her career she has focused on solving complex cross-disciplinary problems and developing people and ideas. Deborah’s experience includes a decade making biopharmaceuticals at Genentech, leading operations at genetic-testing pioneer 23andMe, and founding a biotech company to develop microbes as therapeutics.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Queensland in her native Australia and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. She lives in San Francisco with her family, where she also serves on two nonprofit boards supporting education and sports for young people.
