DD Johnice is a serial entrepreneur and accomplished innovation executive who has guided clients in discovering, developing, and bringing to market new products, services and businesses. Having worked in healthcare, retail, marketing and communications, and professional services, DD has built her career pursuing solutions to challenging business and social problems.

Most recently, DD partnered with innovation consultancy Xynteo to lead a cohort of senior executives from multinational, multi-industry corporations including Unilever, Shell, DB Schenker and the International Committee of the Red Cross in developing sustainable, market-based solutions that eliminate diarrhea-related deaths and waterborne illnesses caused by a lack of universal basic sanitation.

Previously, she led Community Health & Social Innovation at Kaiser Permanente. She and her team applied technology and startup economy approaches to tackling the social determinants of health and created an affordable housing accelerator to incubate solutions to the health effects of homelessness and housing insecurity. The team also co-designed a system of apps and services to improve access to mental health resources for community college students of color.

DD is fond of saying “innovation is an ecosystem sport”. And over the past 20 years, she has developed a diverse, global community of innovators who share her passion for technology and a commitment to making the world a healthier, more equitable place.

When she’s not working, DD is trying to keep her daughter’s fish alive or growing her collection of cute robots.
