Carolyn Olsen

Sr. Data Scientist
Northwestern Mutual

Carolyn is a senior data scientist at Northwestern Mutual, where she builds cross-sell/up-sell predictive models that help guide direct marketing and help tailor financial representatives’ conversations with existing clients. In previous projects, she has forecasted incoming call center volume, and used text mining to identify potential service recovery needs in customer comments. Carolyn has built analytics solutions in a variety of industries, from insurance to government, healthcare, and retail design. She has a master’s degree in applied economics from Marquette University. Outside of the office, she is a first class petty officer in the US Coast Guard Reserve, where she mentors junior members and leads small-boat missions underway.
In her spare time, Carolyn loves to just hang out at home, with her partner, an aged rottweiler mix, and a particularly smelly pitbull.
