Alyssa is an innovator and relationship builder, working to advance corporate respect for human rights with a dedicated focus on ensuring equitable treatment of vulnerable groups. At Cisco, Alyssa is a member of the Business and Human Rights team where she operationalizes Cisco’s commitment to embedding respect for human rights throughout Cisco’s governance, products and relationships. To do so, Alyssa stewards key policies, embeds human rights gates in Cisco processes, leads human rights impact assessments, and partners with product teams to mitigate potential human rights risks. In their role, Alyssa is also partners with Cisco’s Social Justice Actions Office, where they support Action 12, Cisco’s commitment to embedding human rights by design, Accessibility by Design, and Inclusive Language. Alyssa is also a member of Cisco’s Responsible AI Working Group, where she helps create and steward Cisco’s Responsible AI Principles and Framework, and assesses Cisco products that leverage AI/ML solutions for potential human rights impacts. Prior to working at Cisco, Alyssa worked at Article One, a business and human rights advisory where she consulted on human rights, responsible innovation, and social impact and developed her expertise in corporate respect for human rights, stakeholder engagement, and moving from policy to practice.

In their spare time, Alyssa watches and re-watches POSE, spends time with her dog, and loves to make and eat new foods.
