Inspired by the recent Lesbians Who Tech Summit in San Francisco and in honor of Pride month, educational organization Railsbridge is putting on an Intro to Web Development event in San Francisco for the queer/LGBTQA women’s community. You can sign up for the workshop here.
Railsbridge is an educational organization dedicated to addressing diversity in tech. Mainly they do this by throwing free Ruby on Rails workshops, where any woman can come, get her dev environment set up, and learn the basics of web development.
Organized by Amy Lightholder and taught by (hopefully, mostly) queer teachers. This event will allow queer women to spend a productive day together in a quiet environment developing highly sought after tech skills. You can be a programming novice, system administrators, developer in another language and any previous attendees are all welcome. Everyone will go through and build a complete web application using Ruby on Rails.
