Luis Alejandro Liang is passionate about advocating for human rights and supporting Latino, LGBT, and immigrant communities. In 2013, President Obama honored Luis during the Pride Reception at the White House, as a result of receiving the LGBT DREAMers Courage Award, which honors individuals who have shown courage and perseverance in the face of great injustice.
Currently, Luis works in Salesforce, helping Latin America businesses transition to the cloud. Previously, he worked as an Accountant at Univision Communications Inc. and Briones International LLC. Luis has provided professional accounting and financial management assistance services to multimillion-dollar nonprofit organizations and also helped create healthy, dignified jobs for low-income Latina women by launching cooperatives where women develop personal and professional skills and gain economic security.
Luis received his bachelor’s degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an advocate for higher education and serves as Co-Chair for the Chicano Latino Alumni Association and Manny Garcia Student Services, a company that supports immigrant students with professional development skills. He currently serves as Partnership Lead for Latinoforce (Latinx ERG at Salesforce), Vice President of Internal Affairs for ALPFA San Francisco, and Founding Board Member of the LGBTQ Latinx Giving Circle at Latino Community Foundation.
Born in Sinaloa, Mexico, Luis comes from a multicultural background of both Chinese and Mexican roots and an upbringing of appreciation in the United States. His family moved from Mexico to Southern California in 2004.
Luis is determined to be an impactful entrepreneur and community leader for social change, leveraging technology to support underrepresented communities.
