Kunal Garg is a Senior circuit design engineer at Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc. that works on designing and developing ARM-based server platforms for datacenter applications. He worked on the memory design for the world’s first 10nm server processor that was unveiled in 2016. Previously, he was part of the Snapdragon process design team, the leading mobile SoC in the market for a few generations. Kunal has been working Qualcomm RTP since 2012 and has filed numerous patents related to circuit design. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in VLSI, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2011. His research at Umich includes low power variation tolerant compressive sensing based wireless sensors and ultra low power hardware implementation of neural spike sorting algorithms to aid in neuroprosthesis. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in New Delhi, India.
Kunal lives in Raleigh with his fiance and two dogs. In his spare time, he likes to travel, cook, play tennis, dabble in photography, volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and work on his financial investment portfolio. He likes to help his fiance with writing and taking photos for his blog “Journey Kube” and they have also worked on small online business ventures together.
