A native of southern California, Jae moved to the Bay Area in 2009 to study at the University of California Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies in 2012. While at Cal, Jae helped establish “Zawadi: Black LGBT at Cal,” a safe space for Cal’s black queer community to address the issues that were particular to their intersectionality. In 2011, Jae was chosen to participate in the inaugural class of the Victory Congressional Internship sponsored by the Victory Institute where Jae worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman John Lewis.

Upon matriculation, Jae began working in the private business industry and is now a Project Manager at Bently Enterprises where she leads projects relating, but not limited, to: IT and Development, Design, Marketing, Business Operations, and Trademark Management. Outside of business, Jae enjoys rugby, performing arts, food, and nature. Jae’s goal is to help create more businesses that are founded and run by individuals from marginalized groups.
